The Chemelilit dance for young men is performed at night as a general entertainment. The present dance song is a traditional one and was used in the old days before going out to raid neighbouring tribes, after which they felt they were fit to accomplish anything they set them selves to do. It was sung by the raiding party sitting down, but is now used solely as a dance.
